Buongiorno cari amici, amanti dell’arte e viandanti d’Italia,
Ogni settimana facciamo un giro per alcuni bar, negozi e luoghi dove pensiamo che possano passare possibili appassionati di Incontro 2022. In questo giro incontriamo molti nomi poetici: Bagnoregio, Vetriolo, Civitella d’Agliano, Graffignano, San Angelo. Consegniamo un po’ di cartoline e portiamo con noi quelle vecchie. Ognuna di queste cartoline contiene l’immagine di un’opera d’arte dei vari artisti e una citazione dell’intervista all’artista in questione che si può leggere interamente in lingua italiana tramite un QR code sulla cartolina. Per i lettori di lingua olandese e inglese di questa newsletter: le interviste sono disponibili anche sul sito web in lingua olandese e inglese. In questo modo cerchiamo di creare consapevolezza e curiosità sul festival in arrivo. Prima che tu te ne possa accorgere, un lungo weekend sarà già finito…
In alcuni posti non è rimasta alcuna cartolina, in altri potevamo riprenderci tutte. Al garage di un
meccanico ho visto che una cartolina è stata usata come blocco note.
Stamattina mi sono imbattuto in un uomo che stava andando al festival… un mese di anticipo. Anche questo può succedere.
Il programma è pronto. Sarà sul sito e lo allegheremo a questa lettera. Proprio come la mappa del
percorso. La mostra sarà visitabile in sei occasioni. Gli artisti saranno presenti presso le loro opere in alcuni momenti. Ci saranno visite guidate. Un momento da non perdere saranno i due concerti di musica classica di Charlotte Beukers e serata inoltrata ci sarà la presenza l’esibizione del dj StefanoZ che terrà sveglia l’intera valle. Il forno per la pizza nel castello è già in fase di pulizia. Quasi tutti gli alloggi a Celleno sono prenotati.
La scorsa settimana c’è stato un laboratorio per bambini. Più di 20 bambini hanno partecipato con
entusiasmo a tre attività ispirate a tre degli artisti partecipanti al festival; Frank Bezemer, Margriet
Smulders e Lenny Schröder. Erano presenti anche tramite una connessione internet per rispondere alle domande dei bambini e per vedere le loro opere.
Ancora due settimane e poi ci sarà la famosa sagra delle ciliegie di Celleno. Aad ed io saremo dietro un bancone? Una stend? Per distribuire i volantini e per vendere oggetti e specialità olandesi. Immaginate: conchiglie di ostriche dipinte a mano dai Paesi Bassi. Liquirizia dolce o salata… e ovviamente le cartoline d’arte.
Che dire: venite tutti? Sì, venite.

Good day dear friends, art lovers and Italy travellers,
Every week we take a tour of some bars, shops and places where we suspect possible Incontro 2022 enthusiasts. This resulted in many poetic names: Bagnoregio, Vetriolo, Civitella d’Agliano, Graffignano, San Angelo. We deliver stacks of cards and take the old ones back with us. The cards contain an art print of art by one of the various artists and a quote from the interview with the artist in question that can be read directly in Italian via a QR code on the map. For the Dutch and English-speaking readers of this newsletter: the interviews are also available on the website in Dutch and English. In this way, we try to create awareness about the festival in advance. Before you know it, a long weekend will be over… In some places, there are no cards left after a few days – in other places we take everything with us again.
This morning I ran into a man on his way to the festival. You can too – just a month early.
The program is ready. It will be on the website and is attached to this letter, including the map of the route. The exhibition can be visited at six moments. The artists can be found at their work at set times. There are guided tours. There will be two classical concerts by Charlotte Beukers, and on Saturday night there will be a performance by DJ StefanoZ that will keep the whole valley awake. The pizza oven in the castle is already being cleaned. Almost all accommodations in Celleno are booked. Last week there was a workshop for children. More than 20 children enthusiastically participated in three activities linked to three of the artists; Frank Bezemer, Margriet Smulders and Lenny Schöder. They were also present via an internet connection to answer questions and to see the childrens’ work.
Two more weeks and then there will be Celleno’s famous cherry festival. Aad and I will be standing behind a table to hand out the flyers and sell some merchandise. Imagine: hand-painted oyster shells from the Netherlands. Sweet or salty licorice… and the art cards of course.
What shall I say: come all? Yes, do that.

Dag beste mensen, lieve vrienden, kunstliefhebbers en Italiëgangers,
Iedere week maken wij een rondje langs wat bars, winkels en plekken waar we mogelijke Incontro 2022 liefhebbers vermoeden. Dat levert heel wat poëtische namen op: Bagnoregio, Vetriolo, Civitella d’Agliano, Graffignano, San Angelo. We leveren er stapeltjes kaarten af en nemen de oude weer mee. Het zijn van de verschillende kunstenaars een kunstwerk én een quote uit het interview met de betreffende kunstenaar dat via een QR code op de kaart direct in het Italiaans te lezen is. Voor de Nederlandse en Engelstalige lezers van deze nieuwsbrief: de interviews staan ook in het Nederlands en het Engels op de website. Op deze manier proberen we al van tevoren bewustzijn over het festival te creëren. Voordat je het weet is een lang weekend alweer voorbij…
Op sommige plekken is er geen kaart meer over – op andere plekken kan je alles weer meenemen. Bij de garage zag ik dat er al een kaart was gebruikt als notitieblok. Vanmorgen kwam ik een man tegen die op weg was naar het festival. Dat kan ook – gewoon een
maand te vroeg.
Het programma is klaar. Het komt op de website en we voegen het bij deze brief. Net als de
plattegrond van de route. Op zes momenten is de tentoonstelling te bezoeken. De kunstenaars zijn op sommige momenten bij hun werk te vinden. Er zijn rondleidingen door een gids. Er zullen twee klassieke concerten zijn van Charlotte Beukers, er is ’s avonds een optreden van DJ StefanoZ waar de hele vallei wakker van zal liggen. De pizzaoven in het kasteel wordt alvast schoongemaakt. Bijna alle onderkomens in Celleno zijn geboekt. Vorige week is er een workshop voor kinderen geweest. Meer dan 20 kinderen deden enthousiast mee met drie activiteiten die gelinkt waren aan drie van de kunstenaars; Frank Bezemer, Margriet Smulders en Lenny Schöder. Zij waren via een internetverbinding zelf ook nog aanwezig om vragen te beantwoorden en het werk te zien. Nog twee weken en dan is er het beroemde kersenfeest van Celleno. Aad en ik staan dan achter een tafel? Een stand? Om de folders uit te gaan delen en wat handelswaar te gaan verkopen. Stel je voor: handbeschilderde oesterschelpen uit Nederland. Dropjes zoet óf zout … en de kunstkaarten natuurlijk.
Wat zal ik zeggen: komt allen? Ja, doe dat.
